How Does It Work?

With its groundbreaking technology, our team will place conductor pads on your face that will harness the Radiofrequency energy paired with HIFES facial muscle stimulation (High-Intensity Focused Electric Stimulation). This treatment provides benefit to the facial tissue all the way from the surface of the pad down to the deep muscle layers of the face.

The monopolar radiofrequency provides thermal energy through the epidermis, dermis, and deep reticular dermis, promoting neocollagenesis leading to improved skin quality. At the same time, the HIFES energy targets the motor nerves of the elevating facial muscles, resulting in supramaximal contractions that tone and tighten these muscles.

As we age, these muscles become lax, which results in the sagging appearance of skin. By toning these muscles that reside in the deep planes of the face, there is a result of volume redistribution from the lower face into the upper face, providing lift.

Emface comes in three different area treatments.There is an applicator for the forehead, helping with wrinkles or heavy brows. Each patient should receive a personalized consultation prior to beginning their EmFace treatment plan. 4 sessions are required as optimal results are seen about 3 months after completing a series of 4 sessions. Each EmFace session should be spaced 1 week apart.

EmFace is a comfortable treatment. Patients feel a warm sensation along with facial muscle contractions which can feel like a facial workout. There is no numbing required and no downtime. Patients can return to their regular activities immediately after the treatment.

Results can vary depending on the individual. Clinical results showed an average of 37% reduction in wrinkles, 30% increase in muscle tone and 23% lifting effect on the face. On average, patients will find their EmFace results lasting 1 year. Patients can come in for maintenance sessions to prolong their results.

The EmFace patient are those that sees signs of aging, such as volume loss, wrinkles, and fine lines. Younger patients looking for prejuvenation can also benefit from EmFace. Note that people with certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy, pacemakers, or metal implants in the treatment area, may not be suitable candidates for the treatment.
